A: D sub connector (full name: D-subminiature) is an electronic connector with a D-shaped metal shell, first designed by ITT Cannon in 1952. It has been widely used in computers, communications, industrial control and other fields, especially in serial communication (such as RS-232, RS-485) and video output (such as VGA).

The typical structure of a D-sub connector includes two or more rows of parallel pins (male) or jacks (female), surrounded by a D-shaped metal shell on the outside, providing mechanical strength and electromagnetic shielding.
